Collaboration

Collaboration is at the heart of what we do.
While Supporting Hands For the Forgotten (SHFF) is dedicated to rural pastors' wives, we also serve vulnerable children and other communities as opportunities arise.
“The support from SHFF helped our children return to school with the supplies they needed.” Community Partner
“In a difficult season, SHFF showed up quickly and treated our family with dignity.” Care Recipient
We believe pastors' wives can embrace who they are,
can define their future, and can change the world.
Below are some of the collaborations women we work with are engaged in.
Oasis of Life Orphanage
A Foundation for the Future
Located in the slums of Kampala in Nateete, Oasis of Life provides a vital lifeline to over 40 children. Led by one of our partner pastors, this orphanage is a place of refuge in a challenging environment.
Our Involvement
Through the generosity of our supporters and friends, Supporting Hands For the Forgotten has transformed the daily lives of these children. Our contributions have provided:
-
Improved Living Conditions: Renovations to their current space, including new beds and bedding.
-
Daily Essentials: Consistent clothing, food supplies, and access to medical care.
-
Education: Tuition assistance to ensure the children can attend school.

The Next Milestone
A Permanent Home - While the orphanage currently relies on temporary housing provided by a local church, we have reached a major breakthrough: securing a dedicated piece of land.
Oasis of Life will work to build a permanent home—a stable, lasting environment where these children can grow and thrive for years to come.

Heart to Heart Babies Home
A Safe Haven for the Smallest Among Us
Heart to Heart Babies Home was founded by Mrs. Irene Herberts, one of our dedicated facilitators and a fellow pastor's wife. Her organization provides a loving home for abandoned infants and toddlers (ages 0–3), many of whom are rescued from the city’s slums, abandoned in the forests or bushes.
Our Involvement
Supporting Hands For the Forgotten is proud to support this vital work. During every mission trip to Uganda, we visit the home to deliver toys, clothes, and essential baby supplies. We also delight in hosting special Christmas celebrations for these precious children to ensure they feel the joy of the season.

God's Mercy Community School
A Beacon of Hope in Rakai
Founded by Supporting Hands For the Forgotten coordinator Mrs. Apostle Margaret Mwebaza, God’s Mercy Community School is the only Christian school in its village. In a region heavily impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic, most students are orphans raised by grandparents who struggle with extreme poverty. Despite these challenges, the school provides a vital education to children, some of whom walk up to 10 kilometers (6.2 miles) each day just to attend class.
Our Involvement
Over the years, Supporting Hands For the Forgotten and volunteers have worked to improve the learning environment by:
-
Providing Essentials: Donating over 60 desks (so students no longer sit on the ground), along with textbooks, pencils, and other scholastic materials.
-
Disaster Recovery & Emergency Relief: When a severe storm destroyed the school’s temporary buildings in 2025, we reached out to our sponsors and stepped in to fund the construction of semi-permanent structures, ensuring education could continue safely.
-
Personal Care: Providing clothing, shoes, and sandals to children in need.

Extended Support
Your support helps us maintain these structures and provide the supplies necessary to keep these children in school. Together, we are investing in the future of a community that refuses to be forgotten.
