Meet Our Team

Cissy Namubiru Mpanju
Founder & President
Cissy is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, an active member of Real Church in Waldorf, Maryland, and a respected leader within her community. The vision for Supporting Hands For the Forgotten was born out of a deeply personal season in Cissy’s life following the loss of her husband to COVID-19 in 2021.
Cissy was born in Uganda and had a deep connection to the area. During her time of grief, she was ministered to by a pastor’s wife in Uganda who committed herself to prayer, encouragement, and unwavering support—despite never having met Cissy in person. Through this profound example of love and sisterhood, Cissy learned of the challenges faced by Pastors’ wives in rural communities and felt called to pour back into Pastors’ wives in rural areas and vulnerable children—restoring hope, dignity, and empowerment.
She is a mother of 3 biological, and many others she cares for. Professionally, Cissy is a registered nurse and serves with Prince George's County Public Schools where her passion for care, service, and advocacy continues to shape the lives of others.
